marked by significant political turmoil, severe flooding, and violence. Over the past weeks, widespread protests have erupted, resulting in violent clashes with security forces, leaving more than 80 people dead, including police officers. The protests, initially driven by students opposing a controversial government quota system for jobs, escalated and have prompted strong responses from international bodies like the UN, which has called for an immediate cessation of violence
Additionally, Bangladesh has been grappling with devastating floods that have claimed at least 23 lives and affected 5.7 million people. Continuous monsoon rains and overflowing rivers have led to widespread displacement, with over a million families stranded. Relief efforts are underway, though many areas remain inaccessible due to blocked roads
Amid this unrest, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus is set to lead an interim government following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who left office after intense protests. Yunus has called for calm as he prepares to guide the country through this turbulent period.
