and calls can be made from WhatsApp to other apps
WhatsApp is adding a new section called 'Third Party Chats' to its app to launch this new facility. By clicking on the new section, users can exchange messages from WhatsApp to Telegram, Signal, iMessage, Google Messages. The facility is now in the experimental stage, according to the company WAbetinfo, which works on various features of WhatsApp.
It is known that WhatsApp will maintain the privacy and security of its users with this new feature. In addition, Meta shared images of how chats from other or third-party apps will look on WhatsApp and Messenger.
Call facility in other apps
Meta said notifications will be available on WhatsApp and Messenger to notify users about messages from other apps. That is, the notification will inform that a message has arrived from another app. From here, WhatsApp users can decide whether to accept or reject the message.
Users can also create separate folders for other app chats if they want. Users will get 'rich messaging features' like typing indicators, read reception, direct replies and reactions while chatting with users of third party apps.
On the other hand, Meta confirmed that from 2027 WhatsApp users will get the facility to call other or third party apps. Meta has decided to make these major changes to WhatsApp and Messenger mainly due to the European Union's Digital Market Act.
