Mark Zuckerberg, the chief executive officer of Meta, surprised everyone by wearing the first Augmented Reality (AR) technology 'Orion' smart glasses made by themselves as the biggest surprise of the Connect conference organized at the Mater headquarters in California. In addition to reading messages on the glasses screen, various benefits of augmented reality technology can be used. Various functions of the Orion glasses can be controlled through hand gestures and verbal communication, as well as through a neural interface. However, the AR technology glasses will not be released in the market for general users right now. Meta said the glasses will undergo further refinements before being brought to market.
At the conference, Meta announced the launch of the new mixed reality technology headset of the 'Meta Quest 3S' model. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, the headset has two LCD screens with a resolution of 1832 pixels and 1920 pixels. With the touch controller, the headset can be easily used with various apps and also play games. The capacity of the headset capable of detecting eye movements is 128 and 256 GB respectively. The prices are 299 and 399 US dollars respectively. The headset will be marketed from October 15.
At the conference, Meta also announced the addition of an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot to its sunglasses called 'Rayban Meta Smart Glass'. As a result, users will be able to know various information on the internet through the glasses using the Meta AI chatbot.
