Last June, the US government banned the sale of Kaspersky's antivirus software in its country, accusing it of ties to Russia.
According to the US announcement, Kaspersky software updates, sales and product licenses will be banned in the US from September 29. After receiving the ban from the US government, Kaspersky stopped all its activities in the country. However, considering the cyber security of users, the company is automatically installing UltraAV antivirus instead of its own antivirus.
UltraAV Antivirus is made in USA but unknown to many users. Kaspersky users complained that UltraAV antivirus was installed on their computers without their permission. They have no idea about this software. They don't even know how to uninstall. However, Kaspersky said that customers in the United States were informed about this change in early September, and that Kaspersky will continue to provide services to users. And so, instead of Kaspersky, the US-made UltraAV will provide cyber security services through antivirus. This change will start on September 5. Subsequently, UltraAV will contact customers on behalf of Kaspersky and tell them how to activate the antivirus by opening an UltraAV account.
Kaspersky started its journey in 1997. The multinational corporation is headquartered in Moscow, Russia, but has offices in 31 countries around the world. Kaspersky Antivirus is used by more than 40 million users worldwide.
