India's staunch Hindutva organization Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha had already threatened to create chaos around the Kanpur Test. However, the Uttar Pradesh police had beefed up extensive security to stop them. However, even if they could not enter the field, the staunch Hindutva tried to create unrest outside the field.
According to the news published in the Bengali edition of the Indian media Hindustan Times, when Bangladesh and India entered the field on the first day of the second Test of the two-match series at the Green Park in Kanpur, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) set fire to the flag of Bangladesh outside the Green Park.
After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5, India's staunch Hindutva organizations opposed the Kanpur Test, alleging attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. On Friday (September 27), they staged protests and blocked roads in Kanpur on the opening day of the match. At that time, the police had to use baton to disperse the protesters.
Bangladesh has to participate in the Kanpur Test under the threat of Hindutva organizations. Indian authorities have instructed the Bangladeshi cricketers and coaching staff not to go anywhere else outside the hotel and the ground.
