The capital's Kingfisher Restaurant and Bar in Uttara has yielded a substantial amount of illicit beer and foreign liquor, confiscated by the Directorate of Narcotics Control (DNC). This incident has resulted in the arrest of two persons. They are Alamgir Kabir and Emran Hossain, also known as Babu. On Thursday night, there was a raid at the eatery.
According to Rahul Sen, Assistant Director of DNC Dhaka Metropolitan North, raids were carried out on a sizable septic tank next to the restaurant building's substation on Garib Newaz Avenue in Uttara, based on confidential information.
Currently, 1,208 bottles of imported alcoholic beverages have been confiscated from that location. In addition, 854 beer cans were confiscated. Salim Ali smashed the bathroom ventilator during the raid and fled. Since he was out of the country, Mokhtar Hossain, the gang member and proprietor of the Kingfisher restaurant, could not be taken into custody. He has been charged in the matter, though.
